It’s often said that “the life of a kendama lies in its spike.”
Traditionally, once the spike was crushed, the only option was to sand it down—or reinforce it with glue to extend its life. But excessive reinforcement can cause the spike to become too hard, damaging the tama upon impact.

To solve this issue, we developed spike replacement technology—a solution that protects both the spike and the tama from damage.

By using a specially formulated replaceable resin spike, the kendama’s durability is increased up to three times compared to traditional spikes.

The resin used strikes a balance: too soft, and it bounces off the tama; too hard, and it causes dents. After extensive testing, we created a unique blend of ABS and PP resins to achieve the ideal rigidity for kendama play.

This spike replacement technology is original to MUGEN MUSOU, and we are currently awaiting international patent approval.
